Beginner Quilt Class



Come learn the basics of Quilt piecing! come learn now to cut your fabric square up your blocks and create a amazing baby quilt all in Class 1. In Class 2 you will learn how to square up your quilt after having it quilted and how to properly bind the quilt! 



you will need the following supplies:

Find a focus fabric and choose 3 or 4 main colors or color families from that focus fabric.

A fat quarter or 1/4 yard will give you enough for 2 blocks.

Keep in mind using lights, mediums and darks, small prints, medium prints, or large prints

 

You will need 3 1/4 yards light for sashing (Can be white, but can be any light)

                       3 1/4 yards backing fabric

                        1/2 yard binding fabric

                        Fat quarters for your blocks.  10 fat quarter prints will give you enough for 

                         all the blocks, but each fabric will be used in 2 blocks. 

 

Bring to class:

Sewing machine

Rotary cutter and matt

long ruler (6 by 24 or something similar)

pins

thread

small scissors to clip threads

6 1/2 in square ruler (very helpful)

pencil
